Day 3
Hi all,
Today we explore the top of the
mountains with the world's largest and highest gondola. It's called Peak to Peak
360.
First let me show you where we are staying. It's called " The Coast
Blackcomb Suites " and we would highly recommended it. Our room comes with
a living area full kitchen and fire place all for a hundred bucks a night. It's
in the woods out away from the city center. But has a 30 min free shuttle right
to the town center.
Our back deck backing right up to the
woods.
Ok time to leave the ground.
First we head up to Roundhouse Lodge
at 6,069 feet
Now we hike down and over about a
half mile to the Peak Express.
This takes us up to the Top of the World
Summit.
Now at the top at 7,087 feet and what
a view, a full 360 in every direction.
Looking down at a peak next to us.
On Top of the World
One nice thing about being married 50
years your wife will follow you anywhere.
Prilly is saying "We would have
never got Sue up here."
It's a skiers paradise.
There are miles and miles of trails
up here to hike.
Without seeing the people in this
picture you can't really get an idea of distance.
Looking across at this mountain we
see this cool lake.
Zooming in on it.
Prilly says my hair looks like Trump.
Now I got her wearing the pack. What
a wife !
What's taking her so long.
Time to head back down to the Peak to
Peak lift. We picked a great crystal clear day to do this.
Now we have to hike over and up to
get there.
Heading over to Peak two
This section takes about 20 minutes
to cross and what a view.
Looking down through the valley.
Prilly is pondering the day's events.
Really she is just exhausted from carrying my pack.
Looking up the valley we see the snow
that never melts. Does this make you want to ski or what ?
We get down safe and sound. Tomorrow
we will zip line down the mountain. They say one of our runs drop 2000 ft in
1.5 minutes. That should be a real rush.
See you then Prilly & Ralph
